What is an advocate?
A trained staff person that provides support, has connections
with GLBT organizations and mainstream systems, and assists
with accessing information and referrals for people.
How can an advocate assist me?
- Provide support, crisis intervention, information, and
referrals on the hotline or in person.
- Assist with safety planning.
- Accompany you to court.
- Assist with victim compensation.
- Assist with accessing medical, legal, housing, or other
social services.
Does it cost anything?
No.
