18 years ago, a small group of lesbian partner abuse survivors and their friends had a vision. They wanted to create an organization that provided safety and support services to other survivors while also working to create a climate of community intolerance for partner abuse.
Today, that vision is The Network/La Red, the oldest grassroots organization on the East Coast working specifically to end partner abuse in lesbian/bisexual/ transgender (LBT) communities. Current statistics demonstrate that 25-33% of LGBT individuals experience domestic violence, and since 1989 we have provided free emergency shelter, support groups, hotline, and advocacy to thousands of survivors, their friends, and family members throughout the Commonwealth. The Network/La Red is recognized internationally and nationally for best practices in addressing LBT partner abuse on a community level.
Your sponsorship of this event will help enable us to underwrite the cost of the event, allowing all ticket sales and donations to be directed towards our fundraising goal of $40,000.
